Hi all,
I have a 1988 SWB 2.4d and its bust!

I need a spare part, its the bit that bolts onto the top of each injector and is the fuel return pipe. I need one now!

Also, i cannot get it into 4WD High, it clicks when I press the switch but does not do anything. Is the vacumm thing busted?

Hi There.

It's always a bit quiet on here.

If you're looking for a fast response, try the lcool aus site.

Hope you get it fixed.

Cheers,
K

Hi Briitts and welcome.
I hope this is what you want,if not just say so and Ill see if I can find it

The simplest way to check your vacuum shifter is to swap hoses.
Off will become On and vice versa

It could be something simple suh as leaking hose or even if the unit is not working I think it would be just the diaphragm inside.

Before you pull anything apart have a good look at the conditon of the vac shift hoses and solenoid wires and aquaint yourself with how it works.
You also need to have your front hubs locked.

I stand corrected. It is a bit quiet here though. You think its because no-one has much to report about cruisers goin wrong or that the site hasn't taken off yet or somefink else?

Happy New Year to you all from Ireland btw!

k1elliot, I often wondered what makes a landcruiser site boom.
From my observations, its the ones that specialise in highly modified older type competition vehicles that become the most popular.
This is because they need info only obtainable from other cruiserheads and need a constant source of used parts which only others like themselves have.
This camraderie is intensified in countries where the model is rare or was only sold in low volumes eg USA.

In Australia we have 11% of all landcruisers ever made and nearly all the models, from all years but only have 2-3 busy forums.
Getting help is as easy as walking into the parts store which all keep a full range of OEM,aftermarket parts and accessories thus negating the need to post questions on a forum.
In fact there are places in the outback that stock nothing else but LC parts and big skinny tyres for the 75 series split rims. Shocked
As the Saudis have 14% of the market for LC, I guess they would be the same.
Icelanders too

I dont know much about the UK and Irish landcruiser scene except that most of landcruisers seem to be later models in good/ reasonable condition which have a lower downtime.
The vehicles all seem to be the Landcruiser II,Prado or 80 and 100 series
There also seems to be a growing market there for accessories to improve them offroad.

Anyway you are lucky like us that you can import low klm RHD landcruisers from the JDM
Im sure when all those rover owners learn what a cruiser is they will want one and we will be waiting here for them 8)

Oh,if Im wrong on any of those points please correct me Wink

Yes thats the bit, its £60 (about 1million dollars!) from Toyota and the like and I cannot get a second hand one. Maybe you could get me one and send from Oz?

Regarding the amount of LC in the UK, I dont see them very often, pre 95, particulary the 70 series. I had one in Oz when I lived in Perth and it just kept going and going and going....

I thought I answered this one but there is nothing so I must have dreamt Rolling Eyes

The part 23760 is used on 6 other 4 cyl toyota diesels that I know of.

Some of them have the excess fuel exiting from number 3 injector but it is essentially the same part.
These other motors are found on Prados,Landcruisers,Dyna trucks,Coaster buses and Toyota forklifts and earthmoving equipment.

3B, 13BT,4B,14BT,15BT and 1KZ.(T means Turbo
Maybe try a truck wrecker.
A fuel injection specialist would know how to source one.
If you cant find one Ill find a local wrecker who does international orders . Very Happy

The part also looks the same as the Hilux 2.4td , so might be worth looking for one of those.

Yep same engine - 2L or 2LTE in the SWB LC 2. Get one for a Hilux pickup, Surf (2.4) or anything else with the same engine.
