Hi guys, i'm a total Newbie to the forum and to Toyota. I have just purchased a 2001 Colorado having defected from the "green oval" which so far is fantastic. I am looking for a rubber boot liner and a decent dog guard to try and keep it cleanish in the back. Any ideas where i can buy them from without paying highway man prices. Thanks |

i too had a landie. enough said. i got a rubber boot mat from halfords and trimmed it to fit. it's plenty big enough and i cut it so that the edges go underneath the plastic trim.
the dog guard was a little more difficult. my colorado is a 1997 model and toyota no longer make a guard for it. however i managed to get one off flea-bay. pure luck as i hadn't managed to source one from any-where else. there are companies that will fabricate one for you at cost of around £160. i'm at work at the moment but could get you a few names from home tomorrow if you like.
i also got a quote from frogs island. if you go to their web-site, gallery and toyota landcruiser 90 series you'll see pics of nice colorados kitted out. be warned that they wanted £260 + VAT. (does look good though). |

Thanks mate, boot liner is sorted, i think the dog guard will have to be fabricated though as i don't think those cheapo universal ones would stop 75Kg of furball should i have to stop in a hurry. Time to dust of the mig welder i think. |

you're right. the universal types are rubbish. it amazes me that no-one takes this issue seriously. in Australia for example, there are a few different makes of guards available that all bolt in and are load tested. yet in the UK we are quite complacent about being killed in an accident when all the contents of the boot fly forwads into the back of our heads!
good luck with having a guard fabricated, i would be very interested in seeing the results. |

I have now drawn up a guard to fit where the load cover would normally be. If i can work out how to do it, i will post some pictures once i have made it. |
