|
|
Is there any interest in a weekend away in Wales?
We are lucky enough to have a new member with vast experience of the lanes in Wales (Paul_Humphreys) who will show us around.
Date to be agreed between those interested and Pauls availability.
Maybe, meet up at a camp site on a Friday, food drink and have fun, go laning on the Saturday and rough camp that night, food drink and have fun, more laning on the Sunday and then finish early afternoon for everyone to go there own way home?
Detail of my last trip are here http://www.tlocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2546
Wales is just so nice a place to go offroading it's very much recommened
EDIT some camp sites from Paul who cannot post links yet.

Hope you get a lot of takers,i will keep an eye out for your date, but my diary until sept is getting a bit full, as i have a job overseas from May to August, and will only be back a few times.
I am going with TBR though, the first weekends in Feb,March and April.
Otherwise, sept onwards i will be there.
Just to say to members that its great for first time off roaders. As much as possible it is non damaging, and great fun.Had a standard 80 series up there once, no problems at all, standard dual cabs, all no problems.Go give it a try. |

Cheers Tony for your post, the route I took and TBR use is as far as possible non damaging, it's absolutely stunning scenery I could go time and time again
I'm off again in May with the Surf Guys
I'm sure Paul knows areas that we will enjoy without too much risk. |

I always try to keep the damage down, but when I know who is coming and driving what I can then plan the route.
But anything can happen!!.

My BJ40 is currently off the road but should be back up and running by April. Dates after that would certainly be of interest, providing that they are not either 19-21 April or 19-21 September as TonyS and I will be doing further Lincomb Farm weekends. But that's another thread! I do work a few weekends but with enough notice can book time off.
Rodger,

I toured Wales a number of years back for a big charity event.... I am sorry to say that I found far too many Welsh people, both north and south, to be very rude and unhelpful |

I found quite the opposite.
Maybe it's not the Welsh? |

Not found any problems yet, we stay on their farms where possible, and try to support the local shops and pubs,as its pretty quiet around there when we go in winter. |

I may be a possible dependent on dates.
Just had a look at the TBR site. Interesting to see all the weekend in Wales they have planned. Sadly, we were put off by the charge 'cause that plus fuel is outside my current income. Will just have to work a few extra weekends...
