Well, it's fitted. Winch mount and Warn XD 9000.
This is a pretty straightforward job. However, there are one or two little tricky bits that are well worth knowing before you start. Works pretty well in conjunction with a lift kit as it solves the gap issue between the body and the bumper. It all fits very nicely. Not going to publish a fitting guide on this one (even though the instructions from bumper supplier and Warn are next to useless. If anyone wants any info, just mail me. Don't want to 'advertise' too openly on the forum.

The winch mount is from TBR in the UK but shipped direct from Germany. The lift has no effect on the situation. You can fit the winch with or without a lift kit.
It is probably neater without the lift, but with a lift it helps to solve the problem of bumper mount extensions. It helps because with the winch mount you have to cut them off to make room - easy no bumper problem anymore.
The bumper is essentially now decorative as in the case of anyone hitting you, your front end is now about 80 kgs of winch and steel box. Ha Ha

Could you jack the front up on the winch box? |

How do you get to the free spool leaver on the winch?

Oh yes, but I'd want a piece of timber under there or maybe weld on a little spigot. Good chance the jcak would slip around metal to metal.
The mount bolts straight onto the towing eye position. You can then move the towing eye to a position under the box - so that you've somewhere to fasten the return from your snatch block.

Tried the winch this week end by hanging the car from an oak tree. Worked very well indeed. No stresses or strains in the mounting. The only grief was the Police turning up with a concerned member of Tinker's Rucksack wondering what I was doing. Private land, I said. Good bye. They were actually very nice about it. Just goes to show, there's always someone watching
