Sad   Hey lads PIdge from ireland here .
  I am absolutly gutted. On dec. 28th in the lashings of sleet and rain the engine of my '93 JL78 gave up. Can anyone give me ideas on engines to replace it with, as i dont think there are many'78s around.

The LJ78 use a the L type diesel. Find the exact one you have,it will be a 2L,or 2Lte or something.
The info is on the aluminium plate on the firewall
You may find engines from the Hiace,Cressida and Hilux that can be used
