The one thing I miss on my LC3 is CC.

This is supposed to be a pretty easy retrofit but got a blank look when I asked a dealership.

There are outfits that will fit aftermarket CC for about £500.

Anybody done this?

I regard CC in the same way I regard a sunroof and sat-nav.... if its not there then fine as I can live without them, I would not pay extra to have it fitted Confused

Just a comment on the cruise control. I have an Amazon with cruise control and when I got it I thought it would never get used. I haven't had a car with it before so it's a novelty and I had to give it a try.

Two things I like:

a. I can set it just below the speed limit and then stop squinting at the speedo every 10 seconds. Obviously when the local speed limit changes you have to go up or down on the CC.

b. I can set it to a comfortable speed and let the CC drive. My right foot can be left hovering above the brake pedal if I think there might be a need to brake. This reduces the time taken to react.

For these reasons, I now use it a lot more than I imagined. I finding driving less stressful and can cope with long journeys (3-400 miles) much more easily than without using it.

Just a few thoughts

Willy

For me CC is very usefull.
There isn't a day go's by that i don't use it.

Even for short stretches of perhaps a mile or so.

You can get retro-kits fitted for circa £280.00

Aren't these fly-by-wire? If so, the usual aftermarket kit that uses vacuum and a cable to yank the throttle arm won't work the same. You can get them to work by attaching the cable to the throttle pedal, and it yanks that instead. It's not really ideal though.

Have a look to see of there's a throttle cable. If not, I'm sure you can add the toyota control (is it a stalk or steering wheel buttons?) and reconfigure the ecu to accept it. It then just supplies the necessary signal to the ecu, and will also already be connected to the clutch/brake/throttle position etc. The problem is finding out who knows about it so you can get the right parts.

It may be that the control is already built into the ecu, so you only have to add the stalk etc.

I like to use my CC in roadworks so I don't creep above the speed limit.

We have some long-term works around here at the moment with sets of average speed cameras that it would be easy to get caught out by.
