Hi everyone, need to replace front sidelight bulb on the old ,92 prado, but cannot seem to get a match .the old one has a large white area on the front of the glass,I thought maybe where blown, but the good side is the same, and they are twin filament _ running lights at some stage, now disconnected? Anyway no one has seen anything like them,a toyota part maybe? these have jap writing on them,so i assume fitted as original equipment.I have fitted normal sidelight bulbs but these are nowhere near as bright despite the same rating ideas please! |

The sidelights are twin filament because they illuminate the roadside when you indicate on that side! Go to Toyota with all the VIN plate details - its the only place I could find these bulbs (and they had to order specially) _________________ peterB |

Thanks Warthog, you have just confirmed that a trip toToyota is needed.at least it sounds as if the correct bulbs are available over here.what I dont understand is though, why would they need to illuminate the side of the road you indicate on.surely the seperate indicator on the front and the side repeater on the wing do this anyway? |

It's the same as my 80 series landcruiser, when you indicate with the lights on it illuminates the side of the vehicle, handy for seeing pedestrians or obstructions at night.
