Ive owned a HJ45 and HJ47.

Do you know of any BJ40 or BJ42s in Ireland? Im looking for a 1984 model.

Has a BJ45 got a 3B 4 cylinder engine in them?

as regards to hydraulic winches i found this company in germany they have a english translated website www.power-trax.de they also have 40 series body parts, though i think they get some of them in from america themselves.

There is also a 47 with a 2H diesel

It should be a 3.4 ltr .The H and 2H 6 cyl diesels were 3.6 and 4.0 litre.
Its not so much the year ,but the intended market.
Australia never got the BJ45 only BJ40,BJ42,FJ4O,FJ45,HJ45 and HJ47.

The BJ45 was mainly sold in Europe Japan and Africa. I think the Japanese called it a BJ46

Yes but the BJ42 has 3 windscreen wipers and a 5 sp. It was often sold as a LX spec with cloth seats and fancy rear forward facing rear seat.
They also had flares on the rear fender
The basic 40 series shape goes back to the 25,28,35 and 38 series models.

Good website Rosco.

I always thought it strange I could never find a diesel 55 series. when i first seen one it i thought 'what a fugly car' but yah know i like to see them now. Theres a film "Fifty first dates" that has a two tone red and biege 55 in it.

and i ain't never seen or heard of a factory built 5 door 40 series.

the list doesnt include the FJCruiser though, some hardcorers reckon its not a real landcruiser.

the Megacruiser, now thats a truck an a half. 4 way steer! theres some good movies of it on youtube.com

heres an original 40 series advert

There are some references to a diesel 55. Its possibly called a BJ56. I have a pic of an Indonesian ex military 55 with a 14 B diesel but I could never get a response from the owner
The chassis in these is supposed to be identical to an early model dyna truck and these had diesel.

One of the guys on Mud says Australia got the 2nd biggest shipment of the 45 5 dr wagon, but Ive only seen 2 and one was wreck
There is also a 5 dr model that is a cross between a 45 and a 55 and this could be the real 56 series. It is a 45 size with a 55 shape if you follow:D
There is some pics of a rare factory dual cab 45 owned by the British Imperial Phosphate Company in the Pacific.
We think they got some of the body parts from the Banderantie factory in Brazil that made 40/45 series.

You can argue that one for forever and a day but it does have a "J" in VZJ50(I may have that wrong)
In any case it shares the floor ,engine ,transmission, axles with Prados and Hilux.
So if the FJ aint a cruiser, then neither is the Prado:D

I would love one. They started using the engine,15B FTE, in the 07 Coaster bus. Its a direct descendant of the 3B;)
