Hi there i have just done a trip in my lc3 275miles one way towing a medium caravan, roof box fitted and it was blowing a gale, a steady 60mph which included up and over the M62 towards Leeds we did 22.5 mpg which i didnt think was to bad.
Good luck hope you get to the bottom of the prob.

If my 'bad' maths is correct this suggests that my recent run returned a little over 34mpg Very Happy
