|

Hi all, well it seems my LC3 2003 with only 50k on the clock has a problem with the master cylinder, constant pressure on the pedal means it gradually sinks to the floor. My question is does anyone know the best place to get a new one. |

Well it must be an age thing but I can't see a listing for a brake master cylinder for a 120! _________________ Do more with less. |

My mistake. I'd get the part number and search for that. Or get a seal kit.

Landcrusher, do you think you can still get seal kits these days, I thought they'd been phased out, any ideas who would know, where should I look for the part number? _________________ Do more with less. |

Snap. Something to do with an incorrect seal material having been used IIRC |

That's interesting, I'm a little dissapointed that this has happened at 50K, non of my Shoguns had anything like this at 100K. Do you think an 03 might qulify for this recall. _________________ Do more with less. |

Well if anyone is still listening! I had an interesting chat with the service manager at Yeovil Toyota today. Apparently brake pedal creep is a safety feature! it's to stop damage to the brake caliper seals by over pressureing them. Never heard of this myself, and would be interested to know if anyone else gets slight pedal creep when stationary and in park. If this is in fact correct then I've saved myself 230 squid, I'm just a little suspicious, I'm old enough to have exerienced seal failure in plenty of British made vehicles in the days when you could get replacement seals. _________________ Do more with less. |

Here in Denmark Toyota offers the service online, where after entering the VIN number, the page will return a list of ventually recalls against that VIN number, maybe Toyota in UK offers the same serveice?
