Sorry, that's a new one on me!
Is it working ok now? I assume that you tried the key fob on 'unlock' before you cut the battery?
Guys, any ideas?

I don’t know for the LC but the alarm on my old car used to flash a code to tell what triggered it. It could be a faulty door switch or internal sensor. The flashed code would narrow it down.
I can’t remember reading anything about this for the LC alarm though. _________________ '98 Colorado KZJ95 1KZTE

Check seal around windscreen over driver position. Water can get in there and it track down the A pillar into the relay sub box. This actually forms a circuit. It's not actually the alarm being triggered when this happen, it's simply a short that makes the horn and sounder go off. Have your headlights been coming on at all without the stalk? Not guaranteed to be this, but it in ne of the causes.

Sorry, I wasn't perhaps clear. The headlights don't come on with the alarm, as I said when this happens it is NOT the alarm actually doing anything. Before my alarm sounder started going off, I found that my lights would randomly just come on and go off for no reason at all. It was after this that I got other random electrical problems with the alarm sounder too. It was water collecting in the relay tray. If your windscreen seal is tight, it's unlikely that this is the root of your problem. You can disconnect the sounder. Take out the driver headlight and you'll see the unit inside the wing. Disconnect the multi plug.
