My spare will be in the truck, its too low hanging underneath.

A temporary fix for your whell bearings? Loosen the hub flange nuts; pop the cone washers with a hammer to free them; remove the cover; remove the large (thin) nut; pull off the tab washer and spacer; jack up the wheel; gently tighten the remaining nut (tap with a small chisel/screwdriver if you don't have the correct box spanner and torque wrench); check that the play is eliminated; straighten the tab washer and refit; reassemble everything else.

Buy new washers etc and do the job properly asap - clean it all out and regrease. Tab washers should only be reused in an emergency. Get them from

5 days and counting YAY!

Personally I would spend the extra money and get the genuine Toyota star washers, I've come across issues with the internal tab being worn off the Milner ones resulting in the nuts coming loose.

Hi Julian,

Actually, that's very good advice! I've found several times that Toyota parts can be cheaper than the Milners / Roughtrax route (when I had my Surf).

And even if more expensive, you are getting the best, and pretty much guaranteed that they will fit.

The only Milner items I now regularly fiit are the knuckle seals, CVs and drive flanges, rad hoses and a few other items - apart from the first two most of the others are actually genuine Toyota, although I always check before buying.

Although as time goers by and I import more and increase stcok levels I'll be using them less and less - gone are the days when I used to place £1k+ orders with them.

Is this def. where we'll be staying, then - and do we all need to book, or is that done?  Costs?

And is this where we're meeting on Friday evening / Saturday morning?

I know there's a couple of days to go yet  Wink  but I'm a nutter - I like to plan a bit ahead  Laughing  Shocked

Is fuel (diesel) available locally - I assume yes?

Big sorry but need to pull out of the weekend. Just unavoidable.Pain the a*s*, and i know how annoying it is from running the weekends here at Lincomb, when people pull out last minute!!! Sad

However it is great to have a such a good response to the weekend, i will definitely do another fun weekend here, with hopefully a good number of you turning up.

Huge apologies again, and hope to catch up soon.

Right meeting point is SH 92910 36160 for 9am both days (if you want to do both days?).

Camp site is SH 95717 35515

I have done one route, doing the other 2 now. We will have 3 routes so everyone is not running the same route. Anyone wanting the overlays who has memorymap drop me an email address and I can email them over. They take driffrant lanes, but also can be run both ways, so it is possible to run 6 groups. The routes will be reversed on the sunday for those who want to do them. They all take in some nice lanes.

Groups of 5 max.

Leaders                           Saturday                Sunday
Paul Humphreys           Route 2                Route 1
Jon Wildsmith           Route 3                Route 2
Matt and Andrew           Route 1                Route 3
Other leader if needed           Route 2 backwards Route 1 Backwards
(we might someone depending on numbers).

The finish is shown on the route as the same place as the start (car park), but it might be better to be the camp site as not the groups will return at the same time.

All PMs replied to.

Not too bad for me Jon as I know the area quite well, but still takes time. I also have tried to make then as non-damageing as possible. I have left out the one where my LC touches both sides of a bridge at the same time and the top of sarn helen as theres is a very narrow gateway, where you broke your rear light when Ray was guideing you Shocked .
