darren,
this is darren from elite i aresume?
don't break those landcruisers
are they diesels or petrols?
fj's are petrols
bj's are diesels
they are rare enough to find
are they running? |
Hi mate from hpoc but near enough how do, thinking about doing both up think they're great trouble is I'll need alot of parts.
Petrol and diesel fj45 and bj41 will have a go at starting the diesel when I can but the petrol looks dead |

Thank you mate first mistake I've made didn't realise the diesel was 24 volts cost me a couple hours messing with fuses, relays and batteries . Thanks for the link found a massive landcruiser forum in the US ih8mud.com.
Thinking the bj41 will be the best one to start with will get it back on the road asap and then concentrate on a slower rebuild of the bus even considering selling my D cab mk2 hilux to finance it
What truck are you driving at the moment?? |

Hi Darren,
The Fjs need to be pre 1975 to be tax exempt.
Looks to me like the 40 is an 1980 or later but the bus, which I think is an FJ47, may be earlier.
If it was me I'd take the good bits from the 40 and make the 47 complete. 47s are v rare. The 40's doors look better as do the front wings (the rot is caused by mud lodged between the wing and the support) The windscreen surround looks better on the 40 too.
Are they FJs (petrol) or BJs (diesel)?
I'm always interested in bits for my BJ40 and frame and body parts are all interchangeable.
Let us know what you decide.
I've rebuilt the front end of mine and this winter am rebuilding the back end.
Regards,
Rodger

Sorry the second page didn't show ....
I have a pair of widened front wings with longer running boards in ali. Also have some hardtop bits - panels, glass and top, also a l/hand spare wheel carrier. Front wings are seperated from inner wings as mine are modified and have made them removable so I can clear the mud! I know where there is a 42 but it has no doors, wings but side panels aren't too bad. (42s are 12volt). I also know where there is a 40 wrecker that you may be able to rescue some bits from.
Body parts are hards to find but the is Roy Creations in France if you don't mind glassfibre and a place in Germany does some metal bits.
May be cheaper to get parts from Oz |

Actually, just to correct Rodger, All vehicles need to be constructed before 1st Jan 1973 to be tax exempt. I have a 1974 _________________ 1974 FJ40, 1996 HJ80 |

i am driving the 93 crewcab hilux ln106 at the moment but i am selling it,sniff, sniff
i need the cash to do the garage or i will never get a nutcase project off the ground
the hilux is sittting on 33's at the moment and has a lift kit and all the goodies on it
it needs a bit of a tidy up after i redid a round the windscreen to stop a leak.
i need a shed to do the jobs quickly but i have not that yet,*beep*.
i'd love the fj and bj trucks ,ohhhh but i am serving a ban from the wife for buying more "bits" (a 93 lowlux and 89 range rover v8)
i am looking out ofr a mk3 cortina though and will swap the lowlux for it if you know of any
talk soon
keep the pics of those 2 landcruisers coming,i love 'em |

I can't wait to get started on it, started restoring the bj41 the current plan is to complete the 41 sell it and spend the proceeds on the troopy.
Wonder how many there are over here?? |
