Toyota GB have confirmed that the vehicle is infact a VX and not GX as stated on the V5. I contacted DVLA who advised that they will make the amendment once written confirmation is received from Toyota to confirm the error.
Toyota are posting the letter out to me today and I can then forward it to DVLA.

All good in the end!! Laughing

Take a colour copy of the letter and send that to the DVLA, as it will either be kept by them or they will lose or displace it.
You then have the original in your possession!

yep, it looks like it was an error on the selling dealers side.

Toyota GB have confirmed that the vehicle is a VX and they are putting it in writing so that I can forward this onto the DVLA (DVLA said that cannot change it without this).

So we're very happy VX owners!!!   WOOHOO!!! Laughing

I initially called Toyota GB (the 0845 no) and they werent that helpful tbh. They told me to take my vehicle to the nearest dealer and let them have a look. They gave me the details of my nearest and I just phoned them up. They were VERY helpful and checked their systems to confirm that it was a VX. They gave me the telephone number for Toyota Customer Relations on 01737 367600 which I should have called first because they have exactly the same information at their fingertips as the dealers etc. Anyway, they also confirmed VX and as mentioned previous, are sending me out a letter to confirm.

Call Customer Relations on 01737 367600
