I have just registered and I would like to ask a question if I may?

I would like to know if white was a colour option for either UK or Japanese import 80 series vehicles? And if available how hard are they to come by? Does anyone know of a list of UK colours?

As way of a short intro, I will tell you that I am a UK based Professional Herpetologist working with a large collection of venomous snakes (venom research). I have used Land Cruisers out in North and West Africa and to my eye white is the classic colour for a LC.

I have owned my Toyota Hilux Surf 3:0 V6 Petrol (does 16 mpg) for the last 2 ½ years and I would like to upgrade to a Land Cruiser. The sort of spec I would like is auto gearbox, cruise-control and leather seats if possible, otherwise the more basic the better.

Thanks,
Paul

I thought there was one in the for sale section but the advert has expired ... You do get white ones but that seems to be the least common colour to me.

Paul,

Yes you should be able to find a white one that fits the bill, but it wasn't a popular colour so you may struggle a bit.

Did you have anything to do with snakes in East Africa - my Aunt runs a snake farm/park on the coast in Kenya which is quite well known.

Hi Andy, that is a  really good looking truck and is exactly what I had in mind as a white LC... I’d want to fit a ARB bumper / bull bar, roof rack/lights etc.

Yes, we have Eastern Green Mambas, Mozambique Spitting Cobras, Egyptian Cobras, Kenyan Saw-Scale Vipers, and Desert Horned Vipers etc. At any one time we can be holding 350+ specimens of about 35 different species. I’m the only person in the UK licensed to extract venom from snakes.  I have not been out to Kenya myself yet but we do have links with a number of people. What is the name of your Aunts place?

Regards,

Paul

She runs Bio-Ken - Bio-Ken Home - I've not been there yet, but hope to do a trans Africa trip in a couple of years ending at her place.

It’s a small world, I’ve never been there but I do know of the place and everyone within the venom scene has heard of James Ash.

As said above, there was a white one on e bay a week or so ago; high miles and auto too, so not for me.

I just sold a white 4runner - I agree white is an ace colour on them.
