Hey all,
I have a Sony Double DIN in my 1995 80 series and was wondering, has anyone converted this to a standard size vehicle radio/cd player plus a CB underneath it?

I have done it in my 90, I found that two single dins do not fit into a double din space because each one has a trim and the two trims over lap in the middle (I know what I mean anyway  Very Happy  )

I still have to cut some metal off the CB Din adapter (note it's not pushed fully back) to allow the trim to be fitted to the top radio.

See what you mean, will have to be the smaller midland type CB and a home made plate like yours then.

My CB plus radio just fits. Got an Intek 150 in the top slot with the DIN adaptor and a standard Toyota Radio cassette plus CD changer in the lower slot/

Is there a special adapter to do that?

I bought a DIN Cage Mounting Kit from here which I need to mod. It just fits but needs tidying up to look it's best, going to get round to it this week maybe.

I did the same. I have a Pioneer gps multi player thingy with 7" screen and Maycom CB underneath. Double DIN only works in relation to it being a double DIN unit. ie it's not 2 x single DIN. It doesn't take into account the double wall thickness of two units.
