Jon,
Out of interest, why are you going for two aux batteries? _________________ Cheers,

There were times when a single 110ah battery struggled to keep going in my 80 so I wanted the extra capacity. There are bigger batteries that would fit in those spaces but 220ah should be enough for my needs. _________________ Jon m0zxj

That is looking mighty fine. Very tidy too when all the panels are back on. The current Mrs Wildsmith must be happy about that. Got my electrics sorted this weekend. All working nicely, got a new fridge in too. Nothing fancy like an Engel, but it's nice and cold. Looking forward to seeing the build progress. May be some nice ideas to pinch. I'm not done yet, just having a breather. Would like a water tank, but go very little room now.

I shall make do with a jerry can sized container strapped to the frame on the passenger side for now but long term hope to get a split aux fuel & water tank under the back once the spare is hanging on the back instead of underslung.
Doesn't fit the 'boot' part of the thread title but the other bit of storage related messing I did recently was making this log basket as gavlad put it
The tent takes up most of the roof but I could see an oportunity for a bit more storage space and Mrs Wildsmith isn't keen on the idea of using a spade to make a toilet so this gives me somewhere for a (empty and bagged!) toilet to travel _________________ Jon m0zxj

I made a last minute adjustment to my storage layout before we went away last week and this new arrangement has worked very well:
The fridge slide was cobbled together from a bit of mdf and some 700mm slides I'd already got and it worked really well. It doesn't have a catch on to hold it open or closed at the moment but so far that hasn't been a problem. This layout has worked much better than the first one so far and didn't take long to add. _________________ Jon m0zxj

Thought I'd try some drawers to see how that works out. The slides are 700mm full extension and they're detachable so e.g. the 'kitchen' drawer is easily removed and carried elsewhere if needed instead of keep running back to the car. Each drawer is 800x420mm and the sides are 18mm good quality ply with a 9mm mdf base, all screwed together no fancy joints or glue If I like em I might eventually bend up a bit of mild steel for them instead. There's still quite a big space between the drawers and back seats where I keep my tools and spare parts.
The right hand drawer is my 'kitchen' so it got a coat of paint:
The left hand drawer has family junk in and when off playing is where my recovery gear will live:
The bit up the middle has my ground anchor with pins, sledge hammer, axe, spade, hand winch handle and a small brush for cleaning lights off. _________________ Jon m0zxj

Cheers No, hardly ever used the chainsaw so I rely on my axe which takes slighly longer and a bit more effort _________________ Jon m0zxj

That looks like a handy bit of kit but I like my axe, has good therapy value _________________ Jon m0zxj

That is true - you can't deny the theraputic value of swinging an axe around for a while... _________________ Gav
