I have a switch on the dashboard for normal or sport mode suspension setting suffice to say it doesn't work. Any one know where to start looking for a diagnosis, the vehicle is a 94 VX LC Import. Thanks in antisipation.

First thing to do is to see if you have the original suspension - I have yet to see an import with the switch and the original suspension.

Brian,

Indeed, perhaps I could go one better and say I actually do have an import with the variable damping system intact.
(Or rather did have as the shocks are now in the shed in favour of a 2'' procomp lift set)
The original shocks have rather bulbous tops plus also have electrical wires coming out of the top to plug into the loom so u may need to get underneath the wheel arches for a good look for the evidence. The system doesn't work too well at best; for toyota to use the word 'sport' was a bit optimistic.

hope this helps.

Mine is working and does cut body roll but "sport" is an interesting term on a Landcruiser! I don't think I'll be squaring off with a Porsche Cayenne.
