I tried to get my hand in the cut out in the engine bay however there appears to be a denso pump in the way with piping to it (hard so it cant be moved)
Im thinking this is something to do with the aircon but am unsure.
Anyone who has replaced their ariel via the cut out did you have to move the denso pump?
Im a chick with small hands and am thinking there is no other way

Advise please

Candice.

No I got it in without moving the pump thing (think it's part of the ABS). Then again had to use the ends of my fingers. Got the aerial through andpoked up through the hole in the wind, then used the ends of m,y fingers to move it into place, then hold it while I did up the steady bolt.

Andy

Have been posting on the electric ariel topic also
I bought the same ariel as Phil and he got his in
However his was not eclipsed by a denso pump (R134A) and considering they sell aircon units i ant gona be removing or loosening it off so i can get to the cut out

Is the wing a pain to get off?

Candice

Not sure how hard the wing is to get off - it's an unbolt job but I think you need to take out the liner to get it off - so you might as well just take out the liner - some screws, some bolts and a few rivets to drill out.

think what your calling a "pump" must be reciever-dryer for air-con so best leave it alone, takeing wing off seems really stressfull!!!, my hands are big and still managed to take the one out my 96 diesel, must be a petrol thing, Andys way seems best bet, Smile

Ariel Fitted
You wont believe it (well you probably will)
After all my ariel problems (tying to get my hand in the cutout in the wing)
im sorted
The old motor still worked
I just checked that it was wired it properly and tested the motor and have just bought a £25 mast from Toyota which can be fitted from the outside of the car
Laughing

Waiting for the snow to do the turning circle thing
Figured it would be more fun with a couple workshop guys behind me holding ski lines on their snow boards in the works carpark before the riff raff drive over the fresh snow.
I notice the turning circle thing when im parking................
We will see Very Happy

Tried low box
No graunching sounds
Had two mates listen while i turned
Let them have a go doing doughnuts in the carpark
They were puzzled

Could it be the brake disks grabbing ?????

They recon its the back wheels skipping

Any clues???

in case anyone has the same problem as i did
Buy the mast and find the attachment bit was broken from plastic rod

I used the internal thread from the screw in bit from computer parallel port
Welded a female and male together the male i screwed to the plastic rod (which self tapped itself)

It works (well for the moment)
Laughing
