Greetings all,
I am due a 60k service with Mr-T (free!) in a few weeks time.
I bought the truck at 55k and have had no complaints about it.
This weekend I want to check the brake calipers as it is a 03/04 model. I do not know if they have been replaced or not (re: seizing issue). How can I tell if they are of the better type or was it only the seals that were replaced? I will take the calipers off this weekend and have look/feel for the seizing problem.
The only other thing I want them to check (can or will they?) is the thrust bearing. Depressing the clutch in the morning you can hear the bearing. Not loud at all but it's there. Opening the window, the engine noise would drown it out. Also only happens when everything is cold.
Last time I changed a thrust bearing it was squealing banshee. Seeing as y'all drive them fancy autos, maybe I am wasting my time asking about it?
Another clutch / gear related observation was a whiirr/whooshwhiirrr (???) sound for a couple days when changing up and letting out the clutch. It's gone now so have no idea.
Other than that, is there anything I should look out for and ask them? This is a complimetary free (labour + fluids) service so want to get in as much as possible. _________________ Cheers,
Crispin

According to my service booklet the 'timing belt' (i assume is the cambelt) is done at 100,000 miles....... on my 120 LC4. |

Yup, there is a light on the dash that comes on at 100k. _________________ Cheers,

My service book says that the timing belt should be replaced after 60k/6yrs whichever comes first. The petrol engine is 100k. My landcruiser is a 2003 LC2
they might have changed the replacement schedule, but I would look in your service record book
Cheers
Roy
P.S. Is anyone going to Abingdon next week? |
