You sort of got me there Leon! ...except the wife doesn't drive the LC I use the scooter to commute to work on these crazy London roads. saves me loads of time....and congestion charges....and parking fines....
goodoldboy: The rack sits on top of 12cm Thule 951 Feet and 762 bars. So the lowest point is the bottom of the roof bars - around 5cm. The lowest point of the rack itself is about 7cm. I did cut down the roof bars to make the rack sit flush with the bars (so then it sits about 1cm lower). The bars were 135cm i cut them down to 125cm _________________ '97 Colorado 3.0 TD LWB

Doing something sililar, sitting a bare rack onto thule roof bars, used range rover classic size on the 80 as they give a bit more room under the bars to fit my sand ladders onto and when i need to i can take the whole thing apart on my own.
The one i had on the defender took 3 people to lift it off and i like to have no rack most of the time as i do alot of motorway work _________________ 1995 4.2 80 Series VX 24 valve, manual. 285/75 - 16 BFG Muds, Ironman +2", TJM Winch Bumper with T-Max Winch, Safari Snorkel, Superpro poly bush kit.
