I have just fitted an A bar to the front of my 90 but something looks missing.... a pair of spot lamps.
When I had a frontera all the wiring for front spot lamps or fog lights was built into the loom all I did was add a relay in the fuse box and a switch in the cab and hey presto, is this the same for the 90,should there be some wiring already there, how have you guys done it, have you used a separate relay and just wire them to come on with main beam or have you added separate switches.

I made a custom harness for mine. I went in on the extra fuse box under the bonnet so it would be a switched live and used the high beam as a signal to the relay so they only work on high beam, just be careful with how you fuse them depending on the wattage of the lights. I was going to fit a switch as i thought i would need it for the MOT but my friendly local place said i didn't need one. I will be putting one in anyway at a later date as i would like to isolate them when i put covers on. He did raise an eyebrow as they are 100 watts each but as he sold them to me he couldn't say too much. Quite an easy job on an 80 as access is pretty good, i took out the second battery and tray as i was adjusting my steering box at the same time to make it all easier. _________________ 1995 4.2 80 Series VX 24 valve, manual. 285/75 - 16 BFG Muds, Ironman +2", TJM Winch Bumper with T-Max Winch, Safari Snorkel, Superpro poly bush kit.

If I cannot find any plugs in the loom I will do as you suggest fused live to a relay and then pick up the wire from main beam to act as a switch wire so all the lights come on with main beam .
