Dear All,
When I stop at the traffic lights, or pretty much everytime I stop, about a second later there is a significant shunt at the rear end. First time it happended I thought someone had bumped me in a traffic queue. It is now a regular feature of stopping. On occasion the "bump" is really quite a thud, other times it is barely noticeable and sometimes does not occur at all. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it is? Trasmission wind-up? Dodgy Diff ?
I have an 08 Invincible which other than this, is a dream, except of course for the no advance warning of an empty washer bottle !!
Any hints gratefully recieved. |

Welcome to the 'Tailshaft Clunk Club'.
A fault Mr T refuses to acknowledge. But if you go look on Pradopoint.com there's pages of info. Seems the only solution we have is proper, correct greasing of the 'tailshaft bits'.
Sorry ... If your Mr T will do something under warranty let us know! _________________ I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

Happens to me too, a bit, and I have my prop shaft properly greased. Or at least I think I do..... _________________ '04 KDJ120R LC5. Died 17th Dec 2010. RIP. |

Mine was quite bad. The dealer stripped it back and regreased it - he said it was bone dry. It was then perfect for quite some time but starting to bind just very slightly when I stop - but only 5% of the thump I used to get. |

I had the same on my 06 after 18,000 miles and the dealer replaced the propshaft under warranty and all is now OK. |

MrT gre4ased mine in March and it was perfect for a while, but had started thumping again (tho' not nearly as bad). Swapped for a new propshaft today under warranty. |
