Hi busaboy
Yes they are great, I have had one on my motor for about five years and runs the fridge and the battery fine.
But make sure if you get one (presume its for a caravan) you supply it with thick enough cable from the battery
to the back of the motor, as you will get volts drop and you will have problems.

I bought on of these earlier this week.
Haven't fitted it yet but it looks fairly robust and allows the fitting of standard battery cables. |

I've got one of them in my LC, just charging a leisure battery and I've not had any problems with it. For all its worth, to protect the electonics in the unit from water/dust/mud I've mounted it in the cabin behind the kick panel on the drivers side
cheers

Busaboy, take note, it is only a 30A relay. The other one mentioned by Bat21 is 100A. Take it from me, 30A aint that much on a 12V system. _________________ '04 KDJ120R LC5. Died 17th Dec 2010. RIP. |

I went for overkill and put in a 200 amp relay and voltage sensor, all weather-proofed (to a degree) and 25mm squared cable to the back to charge a 125 aH battery. All works just fine! I bought mine as a complete kit, and it was perfect - had everything I needed (including 2 genuine mega-fuses) and all the terminals etc.
Bought it from Raw Components who have a flea-bay shop but will give you a better price if you phone them as then they pass on the savings from pay-pal and fleabay charges to you. Very knwledgeable guy, very helpful too. _________________ I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
