Hi busaboy

Yes they are great, I have had one on my motor for about five years and runs the fridge and the battery fine.

But make sure if you get one (presume its for a caravan) you supply it with thick enough cable from the battery
to the back of the motor, as you will get volts drop and you will have problems.

I bought on of these earlier this week.

Haven't fitted it yet but it looks fairly robust and allows the fitting of standard battery cables.

I've got one of them in my LC, just charging a leisure battery and I've not had any problems with it.  For all its worth, to protect the electonics in the unit from water/dust/mud  I've mounted it in the cabin behind the kick panel on the drivers side

cheers

Busaboy, take note, it is only a 30A relay. The other one mentioned by Bat21 is 100A. Take it from me, 30A aint that much on a 12V system.

I went for overkill and put in a 200 amp relay and voltage sensor, all weather-proofed (to a degree) and 25mm squared cable to the back to charge a 125 aH battery.  All works just fine!  I bought mine as a complete kit, and it was perfect - had everything I needed (including 2 genuine mega-fuses) and all the terminals etc.

Bought it from Raw Components who have a flea-bay shop but will give you a better price if you phone them as then they pass on the savings from pay-pal and fleabay charges to you.  Very knwledgeable guy, very helpful too.
