Hiya,

OK, Landcruiser boys and girls. Laughing
Firstly, A huge thank you to Julian Voelcker for organising a brilliant day out and on our local mud-yard too Wink . Laughing
Alyson and I even came away with the Sahara Travelers Bible - 'Sahara Overland' written and signed on the day by Chris Scott. Laughing
Plus the bonus of meeting so many like-minded Landcruiser Owners. 8)
Please click on the following link to have a look at the photographs...
http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2162348
We were split into 7 groups of various abilities and these photos are mainly of the group of 3 other 'cruisers that I lead across the 'plain. With an international group of:- An aussie, French and South Africans, they where more than capable offroaders and enjoyed the mud and water, as much as I did. Laughing

If anybody, of any ability, wants to find out what their Landcruiser is actually capable of Rolling Eyes and would like to sample or take a trip across some green lanes of North Dorset and Salisbury Plains, Then please do not hesitate to pm me. Alyson and I are out there at least once a month and would be more than happy to show the way around. Laughing

Best regards
trev

Some good photos there Trev

Did you see the video we took when we gate crashed? Laughing http://media.putfile.com/The-Puddle

Realised when we got home we saw you all heading out in the morning when we were on our way to Salisbury at Countness Roundabout - although don't think there was much mud yet Surprised

Thanks Debs, and welcome to the club Laughing Shame you are selling the
Pajero but is this to make way for another Toyota? (Cruiser!)
I had a good look at the Video. 8) Seen many a 4x4 get stuck
in that particular hole Shocked
Mud? Once the ground started to thaw, it was quite slippery. With no real rain for the last 2 weeks, we all did well to find what mud there was Laughing

I must learn how to put pictures straight onto the forums Embarassed
The first picture was taken near Yarnbury Castle and the second just south west of the German village on Salisbury plain.
(Can remember it being 'bone dry' 5 weeks earlier!!! Razz )
Still waiting for the water in the hosepipe to thaw as so I can clean the cruiser Confused Wink

Yes, it was a great day out for all that come along, it didn't matter if they were complete newbies to this off roading lark or hardened green laners, they all left with a smile on their faces and calls demanding more!

We ended up with 84 people in 33 TLCs, which is the probably the first
and biggest meet up of TLCs in the UK (excluding the TLCs used as Chelsea tractors in the traffic jams of London).

The final break down of vehicles was:

2 x 40 Series
1 x 60 Series
6 x 70 Series (one came over front France!)
19 x 80 Series
3 x 90 Series
2 x 100 Series

We even had a couple of guys who came all the way over fom near Paris just for the day in an old 70.

It was a typical cold and frost autumn morning. When the sun came out
things warmed up, but there was still plenty of ice on the water
splashes.

I lead the beginners group consisting of a bog standard 80, safari equipped 80 and a standard 90 series Colorado and whilst we managed to find plenty of mud and ruts nobody had any damage and they all enjoyed themselves.

It was great to meet Trevor and hopefully the next time we organise one we get a few more of you from the board here to come along.

We will probably organise another Salisbury trip in the spring and are then planning a weekend event sometime in the summer.

I'll keep you all posted.

Laughing Gav would love a Cruiser, he wishes he'd spent more time looking over them on Sunday but seen as we haven't had any interest in the Paj, it's not looking likely we could afford one Sad If it came down to it, reckon we'd end up with another Surf Embarassed
