It's been building for a while, but I'm interested to get some feedback on how many LC's within the foum have failed. Toyota are abviously keeping quiet.

Model :         LC5
Engine :       D4D, KD series
Year :          2003
SH :             FTSH
Mileage :      41Kmls
Date :          Dec 08
Fault :          Knocking appeared, drove OK.
Diagnosis :   Piston #3 walloping in the bore, piston badly damage and bore badly scored
Cure :          New replacement short block

Car :            LC120
Model :        LC5

Cure:          Replace ECU on Diff and replace actuator on centre diff

Date:          2009
Fault:          Rear air suspension actuator / sensors faulty - vehicle stuck on 'high'
Cure:          Replace sensors (twice!)

Date:          May 2009
Fault:          Front brake calipers seized
Cure:          Replace both front calipers

Date:          June 2009
Fault:          Aircon not working
Cure:          Replace all A/C pipes, re-gas

Date:          October 2009
Fault:          Aircon magnetic clutch noisy
Cure:          Replace magnetic clutch

Date:          October 2009
Fault:          Front suspension bushes failed (collapsed)
Cure:          Replaced bushes

All above covered under warranty.

Have a concern over:

Injectors - Mr T has 'tested' and 'all within spec'
Engine very clanky / noisy on startup and on idle - will check for sludge at next oil change
Tail shaft clunk - replacing rear diff with e-locker, and will grease thoroughly then and check for alignment / play

I think that's it (for now  Laughing)
