First post so be gentle! I have a 2006 LC4 D4D which has just required 4 new injectors. We were experiencing really bad knocking when starting the engine which stopped after a few miles.

The car, as i have said above has only done 47K miles, has a full main dealer service history and is only about 5 months out of the 3 year warranty. As it has a FSH Toyota made a 'contribution' of 50% of the bill but I still have just shelled out 1000 quid for basically a full rebuild on the injection system. As you can imagine I am not a happy camper. Am I justified in expecting these parts to last longer than 47K?

I have spoken to my local Trading Standards department and they say it isn't unreasonable to expect a vehicle of this type (or really of any type in this day and age) and of this age not to develop such a major problem. Have any members here experienced similar issues?

I was informed by the garage that if my car had a different engine it would have been done free of charge but I am out of luck.

Any help/advice would be gratefully received as I am now putting a case together for small claims proceedings  Sad
