|
|
Hi everyone.
Just bought a Jap Import 1994 4.5VX Petrol Auto and need to locate the engine number in a hurry. I have searched high and low and all around the cylinder block rim (the areas I can actually see or get to using a torch and mirror) with no luck after a rediculous amount of time so far wasted.
HELP! Can anyone give me an accurate location of exactly where it should be located?
Thanks for your help,
Lee |

The silver plate at the back of the engine compartment has the frame number and some other codes for the trim etc, but simply says 1FZ-FE under "Engine". As far as I'm aware this is just a Toyota code for the type of engine it is rather than a unique engine number which is what I'm after.
Am I missing something very obvious? |

The number should be at the top of the block, near the where the head/s mate to it.
Why do you need the number, if it's for registration just put unknown, they will not bother you for it. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Needed for a Carnet de Passage.
After about 4 hours of looking I've found a very faint 7 digit number stamped way down on the back end of the engine block just forward of the passenger compartment - that will have to do!
Thankyou for the replies.
