So I want to put a set of BFG tyres on my Landcruiser 200.
They don't make any to fit the 20 inch rims
So I'm looking for suitable same spec 18 inch rims. That is 8J * 18 with the correct PCD and offset the same or similar to the original, ie 60mm
I think the BFG 285/60 18 tyres are very close to the same rolling radius

Anyone done this or got any suggestions
also looking at snow chains
I think the manual says only to use on the rear which is quite frustrating
There is lots about this on IHMUD
Anyone tried this on the UK spec 200 series?

Martin

Hi Martin.
I’m looking for the same rims for mine.
Not had any luck. Have you found anything?
Sorry for not being any help.
Thanks Robert.

Robert
Not found anything yet but I did wonder if The Amazon wheels would fit
I’ll try to find specs for them

Hi what I have found is that the 285/60/18 BFGs are very pricy and I also found that BFG do make the following :-
275/55/20 and 285/55/20. I don't remember seeing those before but perhaps I just looked for 285/50/20
The 285/55/20 are around 3.6% larger circumference than standard, which is about or less than the error  on my speedo.
So might have a look to see if there will likely be any fouling.
Anyway one of the advantages of a second set of wheels was I could have summer and winter set

Will do some more research

Hi Martin
I have just replied to you on the other post but why do you need chains ? if the 200 is just as capable as the 100 I have never needed chains

I have just looked on Camskil and no BFG Tyres at both 18 or 20

they weren't in an obvious place, they are listed under 4*4 summer tyres

so some options in 18 inch and 20 inch

Radiotwo,
Sorry just realised I hadn't answered your question about chains
Most ski resorts require chains to drive up the mountain roads. I think you might get away with BFGs as they have the snow symbol
But coming down some steep mountain roads which could well be icy and have steep drop-offs is not my favourite pastime
I would put chains on all 4 wheels if I could just to have that peace of mind
I have two sets of chains and BFGs on my 90 and they have been used
I'm trying to get a similar setup on the 200
