Hi all. Not been on here for a very long time.

I have just recently bought a 1966 fj45 and would like some opinions as to which way I'm going to go with it. I have many ideas and I know what I want the truck to look like I'm just thinking of the re-sale potential. If I decide...which I won't but if for what ever reason it did have to go I don't want it to loose it's apeal or originality.

Firstly it's in very good condition for its age and I've seen plenty of later vehicles that I wouldn't touch with yours... It has been sitting for a long time but not outside. In a barn in Australia. The original engine still works but needs to be serviced and possibly a new carb.  The rest of the truck has been sun scorched looks like rust but the panels are completely solid. It is just a cab and chassis at the moment and this also needs to be decided....

Soooooo.... What would be the ideal back to put on it ? Flat bed or pick up style?

Do I put disc brakes on the front?

Do I keep the original F engine or put a later engine into it? (Has original engine from factory currently)

The chassis is in such good condition I don't want to hide it with horrible underseal that makes it look like your hiding something...but I want to protect it and rest of the truck will be pretty much fully restored.

What I do know I'm replacing is the suspension all round. Old man emu spring and shocks going on. I'm going to change the colour from the horrible white/cream to something nicer. Probably an fj colour. All steering joints to be replaced and I'm going to convert the manual steering to power.

Sorry about this long post I just want to do it right. Everything will be carried out by me at my place of work we are 4wd specialists and we have a body shop so the restoration i.e the body work and mechanical will not cost me anything. I've sourced all new window rubbers and found a website that sells pretty much everything I would ever need.

Your opinions will be greatly appreciated.
