Hi Folks
i have a diesel 24v amazon
when i park my truck and check the oil its full up to the mark
i start the car from cold let it run 30-40 seconds the oil warning light comes on
i check oil and no marks on the dip stick
so where does a 13 LTS of oil go ????

but if i start my car from cold and just drive off the oil warning light doesn't come on
any thoughts ??
stay safe

Excuse the late reply, I haven't been on this forum for a long time.

I believe you are mistaking the oil warning light. There are two, one for pressure and one for level. When you start from cold the level in the sump will drop as the oil is circulated around the engine. This will be exacerbated with cold oil and a probe that errs on the side of caution. I modified the one on my KZJ 70 by increasing the length by 20mm.

It isn't necessary to modify the probe as your engine isn't using any oil. The light will go out after a mile or so as the oil warms up and flows faster back to the sump.
