Hello all. First thanks to all that have posted previously about ahc problems, that helped me a lot.
As per the title my AHC dropped and stayed low the other day and after looking into it I found and fixed the problem. I didn't see this particular root cause when I searched on the forum so hopefully it helps someone out.
The root cause was that the rear sensor ball joint linkage had corroded and seized and then this had snapped the thin steel bracket off its mounting.
I firstly fastened it back on with mole grips to make sure there weren't other issues and then made an L shaped bracket with a couple of holes in to mount the old broken part bracket to.
It works fine now.
I would recommend you preemptively check your ball joints on the sensor linkages and move them around and lubricate them.
I was expecting this problem to be a significant cost to fix so very happy with fixing it for free!
I am a first time poster so will have to find how to upload the photos as it doesn't look obvious. |

Another thing that can cause a similar problem, is weak or worn out rear coil springs. _________________ I love my country, but I fear my government. Build Back Better B.S, You will own nothing, but you will be happy. Anti Woke. 🤷♂️ |
