Hi All,
Thought it was about time to check/replace the cabin/pollen filter on my 2001 Amazon (240 k miles I have NEVER done it and the last time it was serviced by Toyota was 10 years ago (!)). So did a search and really can find nothing - other than it seems to be very hit-&-miss whether there was one installed in the first place! Really? Is it that unnecessary? Was hoping to find where it was located and how to do it - even my workshop manual makes no mention of it!
BTW airco works fine and no pongs!

I think that if you have one it will be behind the glove box, but I don't think they were fitted anyway, mine did not, although it was a 2000 yr import. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Thanks for the pointers. Have found a video ref on Google for the Lexus version which, when the guy was videoing, was empty when he opened the filter compartment behind the glove box (apart from leaves etc)! Maybe they were just not bothered with by Toyota - seems strange to have the opportunity for a filter but not use it - because I can find no reference in the manuals I have or the Service Schedule in the Drivers Service Record. Perhaps they clogged or filled with water (?) so, to avoid warranty issues, Toyota just left them out? Part of the access strip down involves moving airbag connections out of the way to get to the filter box so, at 20 years old, I just may not bother in case the bag goes off!
Rgds.
