Put a new Milners Clutch in my LJ70 2.5l 2LT but it still slips. Flywheel is ok. But the guys that put it in said "you wouldnt pull a caravan or go Off roading!!

Is this a duff clutch? Or are they pulling my leg. It matches the one that came out. Help!!!

Did you change the whole clutch or just the friction plate?

I bought a clutch kit from Milners, so that was put in. Its an Exedy kit.

Seems strange they could tell by looking, that you "wouldn't pull a caravan or go offroading with it" if you fitted a clutch plate and the clutch cover then it shouldn't slip, only thing I can think of is that at some time the flywheel has been skimmed but they didn't take off the same amount where the cover bolts on, this results in the clamping force being reduced on the clutch disc.Generaly a clutch won't slip untill the friction disc is worn down to the rivets or beyond.

They seem to feel that it cant hold the torque.
The problem seems to be when you drive in 4th and you just put your foot down to get over a small rise, revs go up slightly and slips.

New clutch went in yesterday with no problems. This one was recomended by the Excedy sales people. I have learned a lesson never to buy from Milners. They are obviously not taking enough care in the selection of the parts.

Im sure you will be happy with the Exedy clutch. I have one in each of my landcruisers and they feel great especially the Sports Tuff in the 75;)
