1999 Prado 3ltr turbo auto
Euro car parts sold me 6 ltrs , I had a look on line and a couple of sites say 6.7 ltrs
I don't want to over fill or under fill  |

I have tried that and because the new oil is virtually clear and when pulling the dipstick out it just leaves oily smudge on the stick |

Try doing it on an MR2. Virtually impossible!
Run the engine for a few seconds after putting 6l in - this will mix up the dregs of the old oil with the new stuff and make it easier to see.

I will dip it again in the morning before going to pick up the rather expensive hose  |

I've just checked my Toyota Workshop factsheet (what they used to have hanging from hooks in the dealership's service bays in the days before computers...) and it says 7 litres for the 1KZ-TE. I don't recall ever fitting that much in on a standard oil change, but definitely a bit over 6l.

OK thanks Dave , Will have a look to see if I can find the cars manual , After my house move everything is everyware  |

Engine service now completed , 6 ltrs is spot on , could just see the oil on me ( a dipstick )  |
