I have a 1997 Colorado . The rear axle is nearing the end of life . I have previously sorted the control arm pillars and tried to seal the porous casing using plastic metal but the problem , as you might expect , persists. Does anyone know if there is an alternative Toyota model which carries the same axle . i.e. Hilux . Most on offer look as bad as what I have . The vehicle has done 250,000 miles and is still sweet . Seems a shame to scrap a good wrokhorse .

Bone, As expected and found any axles of that age, off another vehicle will be much the same.
Check out recent threads by locodriver, he bought a new axle casing from Milners, and swapped everything over with great success.
It might well be worth ringing them, as at times their site shows out of stock, that's what they told locodriver, and a few weeks later contacted him to say there was one there if he wanted it.
