If its a 120 diesel its a 3 litre  , and unless its only fit for the scrap yard for parts , its worth a lot more than £2500  , try looking on autotrader online for toyota landcruisers 120s and you will get an idea of what they are going for , you can put it on there for sale once you get the idea of what its worth or you could try e bay etc , but £2500 for an average 120 is way too low .

I think for a quick sale for a fair sellable price in the UK its worth between 6 and 9 grand depending on its condition  ,

I'd advertise it privately if i were you, if the vehicle otherwise has good bodywork i'd be inclined to get a cash job done on the bumper scrapes at a small bodyshop.
Could be worth taking some pics, including underneath and then putting it up for sale on one or two LC forums, even if no one on the forums wants it (if its solid and clean it'll almost certainly get snapped up by a forum member) you'll get some considered advice as to what its really worth depending mainly on its condition underneath.

If its pre March 23rd 2006 regd then it'll sell easier than later regn due to the difference in VED.

Just beware of the umpteen scams likely to come your way once you advertise it openly on a car sale site, take care, no kites no dodgy escrow type scams, either cash in your hand (paid across the bank counter from the buyers own hand directly into your bank account) or confirmed bank transfer.

Very good advice there Juddian , to me cash is king and a genuine buyer would have no problem paying in cash or meet you at your bank to transfer the money .

Sadly Tony the world is full of scum bags, from the very top, wef, down, and you're right if anything the LC owners i've met (usually owners of older ones like us doing our best to keep them in fine fettle) are mostly genuine people.
If the OP's 120 is a solid genuine bus chances are one of the members of the various UK LC forums will snap it up, both parties hopefully doing well out of it.

Thankfully there are decent sticks still about, the dealer who bought my e bay advertised Hilux @ 3 years old never laid eyes on it and transferred £15k to my bank account the day before he sent one of his lads down on the train to collect it, all on the strength of my advert and a 15 minute in depth phone call.
Trust was established very quickly on both sides during that call, and you'll be pleased to know he received a pristine cared for vehicle that had been professionally rustproofed plus various juicy extras plus between service oil changes etc etc, i sometimes look it up on the MOT history site and its now covered 150k and the only mentions are for the odd tyre or brake pad getting close or a split wiper blade, not one mention of even a rusty brake pipe, often regret selling it but at the time we had no need for it as the good lady had closed her small business and selling it allowed us to clear the mortgage, a good day indeed.

Unless the op is a diy man with years of experience or unless he/she bought the 120 from a car mad diy man like you me and tractionman  or Karl for example I do not expect the undercarriage to be in as good condition as we like it to be , my 120 only spent 8 years of its life the midlands and yorkshire before I took it with me to Cyprus where cars just do not rust , and I have spent 100  hours of hard work grinding off and treating rust and painting the complete chassis and under body and axle and that is with 44 years of experience in working on my and my 3 kids cars   to get my 120 in the excellent condition that it is in ,  a lot of car dealers when they see a car like a 120 that mostly all look great on the bodywork but with rust underneath spray it with black type underseal type paint to hide the rust  ,  only for a year later where it starts peeling off showing horrible badly rusted underbody and chassis .

Krys I have just seen your comment , sorry to hear about your husband , I am pretty sure you can get much more for your car , you just need some one you know maybe your kids to help you sell it on the right site maybe a landcruiser site or autotrader or e bay etc ,

As Tony, sorry to read of your loss Krys.

Yes, don't try and sell this on on your own if you don't know much about cars, its a valuable vehicle in good running order even if its got an imperfect chassis, if its a reasonably rust free chassis and good runner to boot then its probably worth nearly half as much again, think around the figures Tony originally stated.
£9k would be the very top end but all depends on condition, it might be a £6grander after all.

This is not some old banger car on its last legs, so don't let any sharks take the mickey.

Good luck Krys.

Thank you guys and I’ve duly noted your comments. He was trying to put me off advertising saying I’d get loads of tyre kickers etc and not to take notice of the higher prices on some of the selling forums cos they won’t sell at the prices that some people are asking,in other words I’ll take it off your hands for a pittance and make a nice fat profit on it.i know it’s an older car and all but I thought it was worth more than £2500.

If you don't want the hassle of selling privately then you could get offers from three reputable dealers who specialise in 4x4's.  If you get an honest one they may offer about £2000 below their selling price, so if comparable cars are £7000 on Autotrader you would be looking for £5000, possibly a bit less for any repairs needed..  We Buy Any Car's website is an indication of what a dealer may pay, they won't actually give you their advertised price but use and abuse their website.  All will try to talk you down hence getting three prices.  I sell motors from my company fleet and have a shortlist of good guys for commercials.  The value really depends on how sound or rusty the chassis and underbody is but I think the engine alone is worth over £1000.

The problem is I’ve used this garage for years as it’s just down the road from me,always get my mots there, tyres, repairs.but I always see the mechanics there and one guy in particular who’s always been great to me
The guy offering me a very low price is the owner of the garage who I’ve never had any dealings with before until this ,so I’d feel bad slating them off when it’s not their fault that the boss is trying to pull a fast one 🤷🏻‍♀️

Krys, just to add more support and echo what the others have said. All reliable and knowledgeable people.
On no account let that garage take it off you for that ridiculous price, go with your gut feeling, - who doubles an offer after originally telling you it's scrap ?  Scally !
If you don't want a procession of tyre kickers at your house, use one of the we buy any car companies as already said, who don't give you what they say, but are less hassle. They give you a phone price, come and haggle, pay you and take it away.
lPunters that come to your door never want to give you what you want anyway.
As others say, get a feel for prices, Autotrader etc. There are loads of 120's on e bay, all years, so you can probably find something comparible to yours for pricing. Remember asking price is not neccessarily what you get.
If you need further help, come back, we're happy to help.
