Here is a nice interesting one.

I can't lock the Cruiser. If I try with key, remote or button on the driver panel the lock on the passenger side makes an audible (dudududududududu) and shows the lock trying to engage but failing. WD40 hasn't made a difference, I have been reading many things about drivers door ECU, door lock modules, slightly fallen down a rabbit hole.

Are there any steps for me to take to diagnose this fault?

The car stays unlocked and fortunately I'm in the middle of nowhere (R.O.I) so no real worry about security, but yes I know, famous last words which is why I want to sort it out.
