Hi,

Just bought a Amazon 100. My insurer wont insure it.
I now believe it's an import. Details were not disclosed.
There is nothing on car stating gx or vx.
There an I'd plate under bonnet.
Is there a way of identifying vehicle or
anyone had this issue before.

If it's an import it will probably be an HDJ101 instead of a 100, that's the only difference, but the simple thing is to look for another insurer, I've had loads of imports in Surfs and Land cruiser form, and never had problems insuring them.

Thanks for relpys guys,

Tried two so far. Churchill and admiral. Both same issues. Spoke with admiral. The said computer says no. No reason given.
After more digging, looks like I may not have been registered correctly. It shows as a manual when put into system.
They also ask if it's GX or VX. No badges or mentioned in log book.

Vin- JTEHC05J904000307

It does show variant in log book. HDJ100(N) and version HDJ100R-GNPEZW(2C)
No model info.

If anyone can decipher vin, that would be great. I'll talk to DVLA tomorrow.

I'm thinking VX as it has electric leather seats. Wood around gearbox and doors.
Tilt and slide sunroof. Unless imports are not comparable model wise.

Well done for finding. It's a 2000 year.
To update logbook I need an official letter from toyota.
They have found it and hopefully will send details.
Yes VX as confirmed from Cyprus.

You should also find a year stamp on the seat belts.
