Hi guys,

First post here. My 2005 1KD has started to stall quickly after starting. Mostly after a longer trip of day 45mins. It’ll start and fire right up, run for a couple seconds and then die. I then have to restart but it turns over for 5 seconds before starting. After that it runs perfectly.

Only thing I can think of changing was the fuel filter a few months ago, changed it for a cheapo one from roughtrax, maybe a Toyota one would sort it. Any ideas apart from SCV?

Hello All,

Please excuse me jumping on an old thread for my first post.

We have recently purchased a 2006 J120 Prado which has just started exhibiting exactly the same behaviour reported by the OP.

I will have to start working my way all the suggestions but I wonder if there was ever a resolution to the original problem?

@robxenotech - did you get your car starting normally in the end?

Many thanks in advance for any more thoughts and thanks for a great Forum.

Mark
