Its not on youtube because that modification for the 120 1kd was thought out by me and I did that mod on my 120 1kd 4 years ago and I have no intentions of putting it on youtube . I have explained how it is best done if you research my comments on here so not necessary to repeat it on here again even though it is a very simple mod to do . If you have trouble finding that info even though all you need to know is to remove the intercooler and the throttle body part where the butterfly is and drill out the rear ends of the 2 screws as they are stamped on their ends on the butterfly spindle so that they do not get loose and get sucked in to the engine then remove the butterfly disk and leave the spring loaded spindle in place so that it can turn so that the ecu thinks the butterfly is working ok so that the ecu does not light up the engine warning light . To avoid instant shutdown (feels like a engine stalling ) before you turn the engine off turnoff all electrics like fan , A/C , lights, music etc so the idle speed drops its 600rpm before you turn the engine off and the engine shuts smoothly off when at normal running temp . If you switch off the engine at hight idle speed you will notice the engine switch off suddenly like a engine that has stalled. |

I agree it carnot be more specific and straightforward , anyone who thinks that explanation advise on doing that mod is too complicated is best getting someone who is more apt to work on their car or cars . |

I followed your advise and have no regrets doing the business on mine Tony, simple enough once you see how it works.
Did the job at the same time as cleaning out the EGR and as far into the inlet manifold as i could manage, wifey doesn't need to know what i put her vaccum cleaner gets through , didn't remove the inlet manifold because it would have meant disturbing the injector pipes, assuming i'm spared that job can be done when its new injector time.
As it is doing these couple of jobs saw it sail through the following MOT, and its pulling clean and strong, as one might expect when the engine is breathing clean air.
No doubt the next pointless govt, same as the last one, two cheeks of the same back side, will try to force (tax) our vehicles off the road once the election's over and they can forget everything they said to get the votes and once again treat those of us who work to keep the ship afloat like something they stepped in or despise, i've got two words to say to them all and the second of those is off. |

All Tony's mods are worthwhile, tried and tested, thanks mate ! 👍
The gubbermint won't stop the boats, but are trying to stop 4×4's with their blatant tfl hikes, my 120 is £710 this year and I've got no expenses to fiddle to cover it.🤐 |
