Hi

We’ve recently bought a 1982 BJ40. On first sight a nice resto on the face if it… but a few problems have come to light.

The headlights and glow plugs don’t work, nor do the volt meter/temp gauge and other assorted electrics.

Had a couple of garages and electrical specialists look at it and the best description is a 6uggeration of electrics.  We have wires randomly cut/ badly taped/mixed colours (greens attached to reds / lives left open).

A attempt to wire up the glow plugs resulted in smoke in the cabin - so it was hastily removed!

We think a new wiring loom may be the most sensible route.

Does anyone know if a good FJ specialist in the York (ish) area and or have any recommendations for someone to sort the electrics and fit a heater - the latter came supplied with the vehicle but its in box of bits - Coming from Bali - probably not required! - but the Yorkshire winter (and ‘summer’) isn’t so forgiving.

OR if anyone has any recommendations for wiring diagrams and good wiring loom providers.

Thanks in advance.
