Hi
I have an LJ70 1990 with only 93k on the clock  it has been stood for 14 years and I am now getting it ready for an MOT as my Son wants it, however since changed the fuel filter it will not rev over 1600 RPM, have tried all the usual stuff blead the system, now I am stuck, any help would be appreciated.

A few qustions that may narrow it down.
Did  it start before you changed the filter ? Turning the engine over may have dragged carp through the system stood that long.
Did you remove tank/drain old diesel, flush through with fresh ? When you changed the filter was there any waxy slime/rust particles in it, which would indicate more in the system, which may be causing a partial blockage somewhere. If so, look at your new filter.
How did you bleed it. Does it rev freely up to the 1600rpm.?

Thanks for the reply, the old filter was full of *beep* and waxy deposits, it does cough a bit when first started from cold, eventually clears and then only revs to 1600.  The next step is to remove and clean the tank out.
