Hi Guys, Not a newbie to the forum but it must be over 20years since i came on here and i lost all login details thanks to my old Uni email etc.

So had to register again.

Just wanted to share my latest acquisition, I have purchased a 2002 120 series from Japan - with a genuine 12,000Km (7500miles) on the clock, Surely this has to be the lowest price this part of the world Smile

I work as a classic car specialist usually supply 80's/ 90's classic cars around the world.

Just saw this listed a couple weeks ago so I had to buy it!

Question is, is there much demand for a 3door 120 series Landcruiser Prado - 3.4 V6?

I know diesels are probably preferred, but the silky smooth v6 has to be better all round.

Thanks in advance

There's probably high demand for it in a country that sells cheap petrol.

Hi Yorkshireman,

Welcome back, I remember you from waaay back when the forum had much more activity.

I should imagine that having spent it's life in Japan, there are none of the severe rust/rot issues that plague our home market 120's ?

As for demand, you bought this one, so presumably someone else would if you waited long enough for that person to come along, could be next week or next year, and on sale you will want to factor in all your import charges/taxes that will push your asking price up, and may not be such an attractive buy to someone else ? Depends on what you paid in total and what you expect to see back.

The Irish lads seem to like/have a lot of the 3 door models over there, whereas we hardly see any over here.
Whether there would be any takers that want a 3 door v6 diesel that would go for it is another matter, but on that year/engine, the road tax over here will be horrendous, which may limit your market + diesel prices already mentioned
My 2006 3.0 d4d reminder(theft) has just come in at £735 !!!!

Thanks guys, yeah I’d imagine a country with cheap petrol prices would demand high price for such vehicles.

Personally, as I don’t know much mileage at all - it would be light on my pocket due to driving a tdi for work etc

Being the 3.4 V6 petrol I’m sure the smiles would outweigh the cost of the miles LOL. Also being an import the annual tax should be around £350 which isn’t too bad compared to a UK reg vehicle.

I can’t wait for it to arrive,
