Guys,
Can someone who owns an FJ40 please help me out with this:
Mine is fitted with a rollbar and a best-top soft top. But I want to fit a hardtop if I can get one.
I am not sure if the hard top will fit over my roll bar so could someone measure from the vertical distance from the top of the tub body just behind the front seats, to the headlining on the hardtop. Then I will be able to figure if it is an easy job to fit a HT or if I will have to cut the roll bar and reweld it.
Thanks,
Gus |

Hi Gus,
Apologies for the delay in sending the measurements but sometimes work comes between me and the bj.
The side panels are 68cm high to the roof joint. The roof itself raises a further 10cm at the centre.
Can't give you an extact measurement on the vehicle cos my h/top is hung around the walls of the workshop.
Hope this is some help.
Regards,
Rodger, BJ40 with HJ60 running gear. |
