hey guys,

I have a toyota radio (1DIN) and underneath a toyota single CD (1DIN) in my cruiser. The CD just spits the discs out and the radio is pretty poor anyways...

But how do you get the buggers out..they look like they are part of the dash!!! No obvious slots / holes to pop extractor tools down etc.

Can you help?

Also happy to buy either of the two workshop manuals available - any ideas which one has the best instruction for queries like this?

You need to remove the lower dash. Couple of scres at the bottom, three screws inside the apperture for the ash tray and then carefully lever it out at the top (under the centre vents) and pull gently. Disconnect all the plugs from the switches and the rear of the air con panel the pull forward the rest of the way. It helps if you lower the steering wheel with the angle adjuster. Radio bracket is held in with 4 screws and then pull the radio and the CD player forward, disconnect the plugs and it comes out. Refitting is the reverse.
