Well, I have been 4 months in Oslo now, and loving every day of it.
I walk to work Monday to Friday, takes me all of 4 minutes.
FKZ is well, and doesn't complain.
She went for her intermediate service last week.
it was a lot more expensive than if I had gone in the UK, but thats that.
New oil, filters, checks, no problems.
Just gone over the 210,000 miles now. and you would never know it.
I went for a relaxing drive today,
Started off at Linderud, where I have an apartment, Linderud is just 8km north of Oslo City.
I wanted to take a drive down the E16, this is the road from Oslo to Bergen, which is on the west coast of Oslo.
I didn't go all the way to Bergen, I just went about a third of the way.
I did 170km there, and the same back.
I would like to share some of the spectacular scenery here in Norway.

Yes,
Norwegian number plates,
Green or white.
Well, Vehicle purchase tax in Norway is huge, like 40% of the vehicle cost.
So a way around it is, if the Norwegians register their new vehicle as a "commercial" vehicle.
Tax then is only some thing like 10%
However, the restrictions are,
You must remove all the seats except the front.
You must have a division between the passenger are and the cargo area, typically, this is a dog uard thing, right behind yje driverts neck.
So, you are now given Green number plates.
That means, your 5 seater, or 7 seater, or 8 seater for us, now becomes a commercial vehicle, and only driver and 1 passenger.
If you are caught with a passenger, then you are instantly liable for all the tax on the vehicle from when it was NEW !
Just to say, you never see people with green number plates carrying any one else escept a front passenger. |
