My LC is cominmg up to 3 years old in October and have just received a letter from Toyota offering a one year extended warranty for 612.00. As it is only used by the wife for the school run most of the time and only covers about 6k per annum I'm undecided whether I should extend it, what are your thoughts............ |

After 3 years happy motoring with my 120 series (crossed the Sahara 4 times), I bought an extra year's extended warranty for £600. So far my dealer has done about £4000 worth of warranty work. My truck (130,000km) has a hard life but the dealer keeps it ticking over nicely, so for me it's a no-brainer.
if you're only doing 6000 milesa year maybe it's different, but for £600 I'd go for it.

This topic has been discussed on other sites that I used to frequent.......the majority opinion was, put the money to one side, use if nescessery.....otherwise it's dead money.
Read what IS covered prior to taking it out. _________________ 'They're coming to take me away..ha..ha'

I have to agree with Thor,
perhaps open a simple separate savings account.
My 120 has over 210,000 miles, (340,000 kilometers) she is 3 weeks past her third birthday.
After reading almost all the posts about all the 120's that people have on her, I have concluded.
You get a good one, which most of us have, or one of the very few bad ons. Noisy etc.
My general feeling is, that Toyota have built on the reliability of "lessons learnt" in previous Land Cruisers.
I am of the opinion, that these will eventually let you down, but,
there is an old saying,
Look after me, and I will look after you.
The 120 series Land Cruiser, doesn't really ask for much, so I think,
providing it is services well, by a good Toyota garage, meaning, perhaps not all garages
are created equally !
I understand from the previous owner, that my Land Cruiser never once broke down.
Perhaps testomony (sp) to Toyota reliability. |

Thank's for your views guys. I tend to agree so I will put my faith with Toyota's build quality and not extend it... |
