Hi Folks,

I know this is short notice but we are running the Lincomb Farm Weekend on Friday 19th through Sunday 21st September, 2008. Elco are again hosting the weekend and the details of the event are shown on their site and your entry should be made through them.

All tlocuk members are welcome.

Lincomb Farm is situated at Lincomb, Worcestershire, about 3 miles from the Hartlebury junction on the A449. I'll post the directions nearer the date.

TonyS will make the call if the weather doesn't improve as much of the land is on the banks of the Severn and can be subject to flooding.

There are various challenges on the Farm's 4x4 course but each one has an alternative route. It's as suitable for the experienced off-roader as it is for a novice and, as with the previous two events, friendly advice and tips are on hand, so if you've never ventured off-road, this is an ideal venue. But if you just want to improve/enjoy winching or severe climbs and drops driving and the challenges of a variety of obstacles then there is plenty for you too.

Looking forward to seeing you at Lincomb Farm.

Any questions that you may have that are not answered on elco's site, please fell free to ask and we'll endeavour to answer them for you.

Regards,
Rodger

Rodger, been trying to register on the site, but keep getting some sort of techno-speak which looks short for "Sorry , but that didn't go through." Something about servers etc. Any obvious tips or should I contact Tony directly?
How many have we got coming, there hasn't been any chatter about it from our Members.

Hi LC,

I've left a message with Julian (ELCO) suggesting that I post a synopsis etc and that anybody having difficulty getting into the site could register via me. I know that Elco changed servers recently and that may be giving some problems. I will need to check with tlocuk administrator that I can do this and if not I'll have to pm you and anyone else who cant get through.

Regards,
Rodger

Thanks Rodger. Plans may have to change, though. Just realised that it's the Midland Game Fair that weekend, for a shooter like me, it's not to be missed. So I may only come for Sunday. Seeing as the fair is on the way, I could camp on Saturday night and have the whole day on Sunday.

Tlocuk's administrator has given permission for me to post the details for those of you who are struggling to get onto ELCO's site and because the event is being organised by Julian, TonyS and myself who are all active tlocuk members.

As with all our events the main aim of the weekend is for socialising, a good chance to put faces to names, meet old friends, tell tall stories, etc, however you will also have a good opportunity to go and play in your trucks.

As a family event wives/partners and children are welcome, but don't forget to bring toys, etc to keep the little tikes entertained in the evenings.

The plan is to meet up on the Friday evening and then spend Saturday either Green Laning over in Wales direction or playing on the Lincomb Farm off road course and tracks around the farm. There will be a further opportunity to do more Green Laning on the Sunday Morning or use the off road course.

Whilst the more organised amongst you will probably want to bring your own food, some basic meals will be available on side. A lite supper will be provided on the Friday evening (Soup and rolls), there will be a lunch on the Saturday for those staying on site (probably more soup and rolls!) followed by a Hog Roast on the Saturday evening and possibly something for Sunday lunch. The one thing we do ask you to bring is your own plates and cutlery.

In addition to providing food on site we can also recommend local pubs and restaurants for those of you that want to eat out.

Alcohol won't be provided, but you can obviously bring your own and the same goes for bringing your own food.  If the weather is good plan for a few beers round the camp fire in the evening!

Accomodation:

A small field  has been set aside for camping with basic facilites (water and a couple of loos) and we are happy to accept anything from caravans, camping trailers, etc. There are also B&B facilities on site and a number of others local to the site - contact details will be provided on request.

Costs:

It has been difficult to sort out the pricing to cater for all eventualities so this is what we have come up with:

   * Camping per night: £10 per vehicle
   * Friday meal: £5 per head
   * Saturday Lincomb all day play: £15 per vehicle (this may change if we end up splitting the days into different sessions)
   * Saturday Lunch: £5
   * Saturday Hog Roast: £10 per head
   * Sunday morning play: £10 per vehicle (this may change if we end up splitting the days into different sessions)

If you are camping on site we will need the camping fees to be paid up front to secure your pitch. Please send your deposit to: Tony and Rebecca Symonds, Lincomb Farm, Lincomb, Nr Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 9RB. The other fees will be payable when you arrive and register with Julian.

Please note that the weekend is totally dependent on the weather - if it is very wet leading up to the weekend we will have to cancel.

Directions:

Lincomb Equestrian is located in the West Midlands adjacent to the River Severn 10 miles north of Worcester and just 40 minutes from Birmingham. It is easily accessible from the M5 and M42 Motorways.  From Junction 6 of the M5, take the A449 dual carriageway, signposted Kidderminster, for approximately 8 miles and then turn left at a large Roundabout just before Hartlebury, and take the A4025 to Stourport on Severn.  Take the second turning left which is Lincomb Lane and after one mile you will arrive at Lincomb Farm.  The event is well signposted from this point.

If you are travelling from West of the River Severn, follow the signs for Worcester through Stourport until you are on the A4025.  You will pass Sandy Lane Industrial Estate and after 3/4 mile turn right down Lincomb Lane.

It doesn't matter as to your level of off-road experience because there is plenty of friendly help and advice on hand and all the obstacles on the LF course can be driven round.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Hi Rodger/Tony/Julian,

Its looking good for Alyson and I to make it up on the Sunday, maybe Saturday night. Its a shame Aly has to work on Saturday because we so much wanted to make this weekend after the great time we had last time. Laughing

Will register as soon as possible.

Exactly the same for me too. Just waiting to see if my bash plates come from TBR (and they're the right ones - what a saga) and I shall register too. How's it looking so far for numbers?

Plates have come. All set.

Tony, is it possible to send you a deposit electronically. I do e-banking. I only need sort, name and acct number (which you could PM) you don't have to have e-banking yourself. Sending cheques is such a pain. Not sure I even know where my book is. E-trans is quick and easy.

Morning All,

Well it looks like it is going to be a great weekend weather wise so I hope a few more of you will pluck up the courage to come along.

We have a great mix of people coming already as well as a few family members coming to join the BBQ on Saturday night.

If you want to come along, but haven't registered yet, please go to the website at http://www.landcruisers.info and fill in the registration form so that we can make sure that you are catered for, etc.

If you have any last minute questions please call me on either 0845 5086863 or my mobile over the weekend on 07971 540362.

Yes, looking forward to it. Sorry that I can only make the Sunday. A case of too many hobbies I'm afraid
